Season: Summer
It's hot, and it's not cooling down. The temperatures are easily soaring over the 90's, and every sane creature is trying to find any shade during the heat of the day. Water is becoming more and more scarce as the season goes on, and the dangers of dehydration, and death are becoming more and more common. Soon, even the prey animals will have moved on, in search of greener pastures.

The Prides
Kavu Pride This pride, is the driest of the dry. These lions are generally thin, scruffy, and often hungry. The lands they inhabit, are the harshest and most unforgiving. During the dry season, when the temperatures soar, these cats are hard pressed to live from day to day. The watering hole, from which they and their prey survive, often dwindles to almost nothing, making it a jealously guarded commodity. Their prey is usually made up of whatever they can get a hold of, but mainly large antelope, such as gemsbok or eland. During the wet season, water is abundant, but food is still fairly scarce. On the whole these cats are the most hard pressed to keep their mouth fed. They call home in the center of their land, under a large acacia tree. Despite their hard lives, these cats are some of the strongest warriors, and should not be trifled with.

Mwezi Pride This pride is settled in the brush and undergrowth along the ravine of the river that acts as the southern most border. Thick trees and bushes provide cover and protection, though it's not always safe. The river border is the only thick cover these lions have, the Savannah grass being the rest, with a few trees here and there.Their range extends to the leopard's valley, and the prey that lives there ranges from gazelle to zebra, and of course, wildebeest. This is the pride that excels at hunting during the night hours. They have the highest kill to hunting ratios out of the three prides.

Mvua Pride The pride of the marsh. Swamp cats. These lions are some of the most versatile cats on the plains. During the rainy season, their home is flooded, and the chances of eating daily get better and better. However, the high water in some places has forced these big cats to adapt their hunting styles. Night or day, these cats excel at hunting, at least when prey is there. During the dry season, the hunting parties have to range further and further from home, and no kill is guaranteed. Their home base, is a small thicket of trees that have managed to grow in such a wet area. Their territory extends from the marsh, to the river border with the Mwezi pride.

The Savannah
Duma Flatts Rocky hills, mounds, and gazelle all around. This is Duma Flatts, home to the cheetah. It wouldn't make sense for a larger predator to try and hunt here, as the prey is fleet of foot, and can easily out pace them. Not many larger carnivores travel out this far, due to there being quite the lack of shade. It's also the perfect place to meet, if you don't want to be discovered while doing so. Shady deals go down here, as well as secret meetings. Take warn, however, as anyone and everyone is allowed here.

Nyati River This river, that runs the course of two out of three prides, is one of the lushest places. Though certain places are blocked by the high walls of a ravine, there are areas where animals can get down to drink and cross the river. Unfortunately, it's fairly dangerous if you're hunting here. A large herd of cape buffalo, live around here, and despise any and all large cats that would try to make them dinner. You have to keep your wits about you, should you come across these large creatures, as crushing you would be no large feat for them.

Fisi Caverns They aren't really caverns, so much as caves that connect inside a rocky hill. Okay, so it is kind like a cavern system. The scent of hyena radiates from the rocky system, though it's been generations since they've lived there. Those that claim they've been inside the system, say that there are still bones from the animals they've killed, littering the stone ground. Others say this is a lie, but you won't know until you enter. It's cool and damp inside, and a good hiding place, as most creatures with a sane thought in their head wouldn't enter.

Twiga Plains Trees spread out along the plains, and not much around besides that, for miles and miles. You want to hunt here? Good luck. The grazers of the trees, can see you coming easily enough, and one kick from a giraffe is enough to break a bone or two, of anyone foolhardy enough to try. Though giraffe's are plentiful here, it's also a peaceful place to enjoy yourself. It borders the river, a smooth area, where you can cross or drink from it easily. It's a rather social meeting ground for many species, so take warn, or not. If you like running into new friends, then go right ahead.

Chui Gorge This gorge, is leopard territory. Trees, rocks, crevices, thick undergrowth, these spotted felines are perfectly at home here. That's to warn any other creature that wanders here, that you may not be as alone as you would prefer to be. Impala and other savannah animals are plentiful here, so take your pick and enjoy, but know that should a leopard consider what you are doing a transgression against their territory, they won't welcome you with open arms. Still, in the heat of a summer day, it's a good place to catch a cat nap and wait out the heat of the day.

Nyani Grove Trees, trees, and more trees. Thick undergrowth, and shade galore. The home of the baboons, and a few warthogs. The trees provide shelter as well, and shade. Quite a few lone lions come here, mainly younger felines. It's kind of a hang out for the juveniles, and a great hangout place, if you don't mind the rather aggressive baboons that live in the trees and jealously protect their territory.
